A study was conducted by LEK, an independent, third-party company, to compare the effectiveness of local advertising through different media channels. The study asked businesses who participate in local advertising which form of media they most prefer when targeting a specific geographic area.
Results show that businesses prefer community magazines far more than any other form of media, with 30% of those surveyed ranking community magazines as #1 (second place was 15% and the average of all other forms was 5.8%).
The same study included BVM advertisers who ranked community magazines #1 a whopping 50% of the time!
